There is only one thing in life that professional pastry Chef Priscilla Westcott values more than baking and wine, and that’s honesty. A quality she soon learns that her marriage lacks when her husband runs off with their next door neighbor.

Divorced and alone, Priscilla is determined to make changes in her life. She decides to approach her new goals like one of her beloved recipes. Surely with a little time, a dash of patience, and measured planning she can whip herself—and her life—back into shape.

However, when a new—and utterly delicious—neighbor takes up residence in the house that ruined her marriage, Pricilla fears that her careful world will fold faster than a deflated soufflé.

Trent Walker knows what he wants and his sweet, sassy neighbor is at the top of the list. He’s certain that the chemistry between them would be explosive, but Priscilla fears that an affair with him, however hot, could be a recipe for disaster.

Oh geeze.. Have you ever had a book grab you by your heart, made your eyes leak to the point where you could no longer see the words on the page/tablet? This book took me away from my reality, and into a world I could totally picture myself in.
Hollyfield has painted a beautiful picture from her words, the drama was all things that could happen in real life, Life Next Door is a MUST read. She never fails to make my day a little brighter.
Trent, even though he moves in the house next door he doesn’t realize what connections it has with Priscilla (CeCe). I loved Trent’s character, he is such a man in a lot of ways. He saves CeCe from herself. He is a macho man, who knows what he wants, and how to get it. I loved seeing his character built into something so protective. I think nothing can turn a woman on more than knowing a man will do everything in his power to protect her.
Cece -sigh- I know what it is like to be clumsy. When you are short, you have a lot of short girl problems, including walking. I could totally relate to everything she was saying. Her character was about how angry at the world she was in, from an ex-husband running off with the neighbor, to trying to drink her life/emotions away with wine. I still don’t understand the addiction to wine, maybe I need to invest in some good stuff instead of the cheap. -ha!-
Anyway, CeCe has a talent with sweets, and well.. her journey beings all the day Trent moves next door.
