★ – 5 Stars!

Summary
Proposing to Preston is the second of four books about the Philadelphia-based, wildly-handsome Winslow brothers who are all on the look-out for love.

(Except Brooks… he’s probably sailing around the world with Skye by now. And Cameron, who’s having too much fun sparring with Margaret. And Christopher, who’s only on the look-out for a congressional seat and absolutely. nothing. else.)

Preston Winslow has a heart as open as the sky and room in his life for someone special. When he falls in love with Broadway actress, Elise Klassan, he holds nothing back.

Elise, who has made tremendous sacrifices to forward her career, is swept off her feet by handsome, charming Preston…but the stage has been her first love for so many years, she doesn’t know if there’s room for Preston in her life. When the day comes that she must choose between her ambition and her heart, she profoundly hurts the one man who could have made her happy.

Two years later, Elise has become a world-famous actress and Preston is a very successful lawyer. But fame has not equaled happiness for Elise, and Preston is much too bitter and cynical to ever consider falling in love again.

Is it possible that the only person who can mend Preston’s heart is the one who originally broke it? Only if Elise can figure out a way to make him believe in love all over again.

Review
I always enjoy Katy’s characters. Which I am sure if you follow the blog, you would already know that.

Proposing to Preston is about falling in love at the wrong time. Everything doesn’t always happen when it is supposed to, but true love will always prevail.
I am sure you have been through something in life where everything seems perfect, but the timing is never right. “The Timing Is Shit” In this book will discover that no matter how big your heart is, how much you love someone, life has to go. In life we go through days of self-building. We are constantly changing throughout time. We are always looking for a way to be a better person.

Preston has such a huge heart, and he loves as hard as he can. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He knows what he wants, and he doesn’t want to wait or even let go.

Else is discovering who she is in the big world. She has changed a lot of who she is, but you can never change your past, or who you are. She will learn that throughout the book. She went from Mennonite to a regular person. She went from being a farm helper to acting. She loves what she does, but she doesn’t think love should stand in her way.

When the two are together they are inseparable. They have a love that you can feel throughout the words on the page. You fall in love with them as a couple. Preston loves Else so much he rushes to marry her. He wants to keep her all to him. He wants to love her so deep that he never wants to be alone again. Else gets a promotion of a life time, and she takes it. She thinks Preston will always be by her side. What she doesn’t understand is Preston wants her to be his side, but he wants her to stay where they are. Home.

With this book you will learn that no matter how much you love you have to communicate. You have to express your desires, wants, and needs. Marriage isn’t simple. Marriage is more than a piece of paper that hangs in your house. Marriage is devoting yourself to that one person. It is about a lot of give or take, but you have to have common rules and foundation to keep a marriage whole. You can’t go out on a whim when you want to, because there is two of you. You married someone to be a part of your forever.

About the Author
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.

Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s boxed set, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times bestseller.

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
