When tragedy ruins her life, Amalie Aagaard cuts ties with her family and moves to Boston, leaving her past behind. Even in another city, far away from the man who loves her, memories plague her mind.

Then, one night at a club, her life takes a turn during a sensual encounter with a stranger. Jarrod Harrison is determined to discover more about Amalie, but she wears a mask, shielding herself from him. With a bit of persistence, eventually, Jarrod dominates his way into her heart. Amalie lets go a little at a time, on her way to finding happiness with this man.

When the past rears its ugly head, can their newfound relationship survive? Or will it shatter their future together?

18+ for mature audiences due to language and sexual content.

Really liked the aspect of the story and where it ended. This was the first book I have read by Hayley and I can’t wait to read more by her, I love watching authors grow, and I hope I am able to see how much more developed she becomes with her work.

Now to my review of the story. How about we start with the not so great parts in the book then we will work to the amazing ones.
I did find the “Your pussy is mine”, ” whose sweet pussy is this”, “my pussy want something”, “my pussy like my cock” to be immature. It reminded me of my teenage years, and it just didn’t come off as an adult. The sayings wasn’t macho either, coming from a pro baseball player. Another issue, when Amalie got to met other girls and she was like sure feel my boobs… unless it is going somewhere else, more sexual it just seemed weird. Like sure grab my boobs in public, that’s awesome. Hahaha! The situation was just weird, and felt out of place in my opinion.
Okay, so I really did enjoy the rest of the book. I loved how Amalie would take up for herself, she knew what she wanted and she didn’t want to back down from that. She stood her ground when it came to her ex, and her family. I love a woman who has some backbone. It really shows her character and what she stands for: herself.
Jarrod, who knew he would come out to be this amazing hero, doing everything in can to protect something he cares about, and he doesn’t give up. Their relationship grows all because of a bump in and I really enjoyed reading and watching their stories both grow. Can’t wait to see where this series goes, and how much this author grows with her work. Bring on the Men of Baseball.
