Summary
The Celtic Fan. It’s a number one bestseller on every list. It’s a love story for the ages. And it’s a mystery. At least its author is. Nick Roberts has never been seen. He doesn’t do interviews. He doesn’t answer fan mail. He doesn’t do late-night talk shows, or book signings, or conferences. No one knows who he is. Everyone is looking for him; websites have been set up offering rewards for finding him. Four old friends plan their annual road trip. It’s been a toss-up every year, with each being different (and some not so good). But this year Russ’s idea is to find Nick Roberts. With an address stolen from the accounting files of the publishing house that’s home to The Celtic Fan, the four friends set out to find the elusive Roberts and make names for themselves. And as three begin to get distracted – Russ by women, Michael by liquor, and Jim by porn or who knows what – only one stays the course: Steve Riley, a journalist from Knoxville, is determined to find Roberts and land the story of the century. His dedication to his mission is complicated by a deluge, a flash flood, and an obviously incorrect address. But as time has its way, Steve begins to wonder if his trip will be successful in other ways. And if his suspicions are correct, what will he do when they’re confirmed? Even more unsettling is the real question: If he finds Nick Roberts, will he tell? Set in the foothills of the beautiful Smokey Mountains, The Celtic Fan is two stories – the story of a journalist following his biggest story ever, and of a wounded soldier and the girl with whom he falls in love post-World War II. Throughout the pages, Bill and Claire’s tragic tale winds its way through Steve’s story, a sweet and sensual account he never thought he’d tell. Take the time to savor and enjoy his telling, and bring your tissues – you’ll need them.

Review
Man, Deanndra Hall does NOT disappoint you! I read the Me, You & Us series, and I am in love with this author! I will definitely be looking out for more of her work.
The Celtic Fan is such a touching book. It was definitely different, but I loved it. I loved how everything “fell” into place. It was really about being older, finding love, learning how to keep love from miles apart. It is about soul searching, building who you are again, and how to keep your feet on solid ground.
I also loved how you was reading about the characters, but you was also reading about “The Celtic Fan” at the end of each chapter. Having this at the end of each chapter didn’t over do the book either, it actually molded the book, and it linked everything together.
Steve, a journalist, and one of the four friends on an adventure to find Nick Roberts, stumbles upon Diana. Diana lives by herself, off a beaten path, but Steve finds she has a lot of secrets.
I really loved reading about the two stories in one, so to speak. I can not wait to read another book by Deanndra Hall!

Summary
There’s nothing like a hot kiss on a cold day…

Librarian Maureen O’Connell might have predicted she’d find herself crying into the ice cream case at the supermarket after a bad breakup—but she definitely never imagined that a guy hot enough to melt the Rocky Road would flirt with her right there in the freezer aisle. Only Gavin Fraser isn’t a fantasy, he’s a mouth-watering new flavor…

When a freak snowstorm strands Maureen at Gavin’s after just one date, it’s a perfect excuse for something a lot steamier than hot chocolate in front of the fire. It’s definitely lust. Can it also be love?

Review
I loved the humor in this book. It was definitely a light, quick to the point book. The heroine getting bumped in the beginning was just some of the humor in the novella.

“Are you dumping me? In bed? While we’re still naked?” “Come on, you would have wanted a last hurrah,” he said, slapping her affectionately on her ass. “Anyway, don’t worry about it, I’ll give you plenty of time to find a new place. Now, hush, the weather’s on.”

I really enjoyed this book, especially getting to know Maureen. I never cried in the frozen section staring at Ice Cream, but I am sure some of us have. I also loved Pippa, she was full of spunk. She reminded me a lot of the elders in our lifetime. There is something about them that they give us these little quirky moments that we will eventually thank them later for.

Summary
Welcome to the Devil’s Den, a Texas strip club where the air is heavy with desire—and sometimes dreams come true.

Ever since her mother kicked her out, twenty-year-old Robyn Gonzalez has been working the poles at the Devil’s Den, saving up to finish college and travel the world. With only her wits and her gorgeous body to rely on, Robyn has learned to be independent—fiercely independent. She’s never been tempted to let a man distract her from her dreams . . . until she meets the dead-sexy Garrick Dempsey.

The club’s new head of security, Garrick had walked away from a career as a mechanical engineer to return to his roots in Corpus Christi. He hadn’t planned on getting to know someone like Robyn, with her sinfully sweet combination of vulnerability and strength, at the Devil’s Den. She acts tough, but only because she’s been hurt. Soon Garrick knows he will do anything to win Robyn’s trust. And if that means surrendering to the red-hot chemistry between them, all the better.

Excerpt
A loud banging noise from somewhere near the manager’s office startles me. I stand up. I can’t see very well. Only three lampposts are working near the end of the pier. None of the ones closest to me are on. I grab my backpack, stuff the towel inside, zip it up, and walk hurriedly toward the office. I grab my cell phone from my pocket and keep it at the ready. I see movement as I get closer to the office. The door slams shut. I freeze, listening.
“Where’s the goddamned money, Franco?”
I don’t have it,” I hear the manager answer.
Nothing about this situation feels right. I have strong fight-or-flight instincts. And that voice inside is telling me to run. Now.
“Ten thousand dollars just went poof?” the angry stranger asks.
“No,” Franco answers. “I spent it on my family.”
I squeeze my eyes shut. Honesty isn’t always the best policy if your ass is on the line. I know this situation—I’ve overheard similar conversations between men in the club. No wonder Franco stays late. He’s dealing drugs after hours. I know it.
There’s a pause in the conversation. I slip forward a few feet. Maybe I should walk on by. Casually. Yeah, that won’t work.
“Put your hand on the desk,” the stranger commands.
“No . . .” Franco refuses feebly. “I won’t let you hurt me.”
That elicits an evil laugh. I shudder. I’m getting nervous for Franco. He’s always been nice to me. Don’t get involved, I tell myself. I have enough to deal with.
“Put your hand on the fucking desk.”
“No.”
The exchange is more heated now, more desperate.
This is the best time to make my exit. I’m a great sprinter; I went all-state in high school. I sling my backpack across my left shoulder and grip my phone tightly in my right hand. Go! I run past the office, clearing the end of the pier, and hit sand before I hear someone in hot pursuit. Sand turns to gravelly asphalt and I slip on my sandals. Damn it. I’ll lose precious seconds if I look over my shoulder. How many races did I blow as a freshman looking back? I won’t make that mistake again. I kick off my sandals and run. Harder and faster.
The sound of boots pounding asphalt is all the inspiration I need to keep moving. He’s gaining on me. I run past my car and hit sand again. Over the first sand dune I see lights in the near distance. I’m heaving for breath and sweating like a pig. Fishermen frequent the beach this time of night. I keep running, hoping someone will be there.
“Get back here, bitch . . .”
Please. Please. Please. I almost collide with the back bumper of a Chevy Silverado. I drop to my knees and look up. There’s a dark figure coming around the side of the vehicle. I can’t catch my breath. I can’t see straight. My blood is pumping, my mind racing.
“What’s going on?” I hear a man ask.
“It’s none of your business.” The same asshole that ordered Franco to put his hand on the desk is pissed off at me now. I still don’t know what he looks like, and really don’t want to. I grimace.

Summary
Only the desert would know…

Dr. Malcolm Reid goes out on his seismology expeditions alone, and he likes it that way. The fewer warm bodies he’s responsible for bringing home alive, the better.

When the mentorship of a geology grad student is thrust upon him just as he’s leaving for Mexico’s Baja peninsula, he resigns himself to eight weeks of keeping her safe—from ATV-riding cattle rustlers, from a weather-worn mountain lion roaming the hills, and most of all from her accident-prone self.

Jenna Polaski has needed the canyon-sized chip on her shoulder to get ahead in the old boys’ education hierarchy. Now, needing samples to finish her thesis, she has no choice but to serve as the professor’s pack mule. And wonder if his limp is connected to rumors surrounding a long-ago incident that killed one of her predecessors.

Malcolm keeps a sharp eye out as they penetrate deep into the wilderness. But the one danger he forgets to watch for is the one that captures them both—an undeniable attraction that shatters all the rules.

Excerpt
Mal dropped both packs and walked close, leaning a hip against the vertical rock face.
Holding her in his gaze, he tugged at his leather gloves, finally pulling them free and tucking them in his waistband.
“Do you recognize the stratigraphy?”
Her face fell. “Don’t you ever quit? I don’t want another geology lesson, Mal.”
He knew what she wanted, but pretended not to have heard the frustration in her voice.
Mal traced a thin band of rust with his finger. “Notice the layering—”
“For God’s sake. Look around,” she said and waved her arms wide. “This place is amazing. Why does everything have to be about science?”
“That’s what we’re here for—”
“Why can’t we just relax and enjoy the rest of the day?”
“Just pal around? Be friends? Is that what you want, Jenna?” He took a half step closer, crowding her. “Or maybe you’d like me to whisper some more in your ear?”
He watched a slow crimson spread across her cheeks, and he regretted his words. So he hadn’t imagined her reaction back in the scrub. Exhaling, he focused his thoughts on his one comfort. Science.
“These are Cambrian units. This formation occurs in small pockets up and down Baja, but nothing quite like here.” He chanced a glance in her direction.
Her brown eyes had never seemed so large. Or so angry.
His chest tightened. “Do you recall the geologic timescale?”
With a shake of her head, she sighed. “The Cambrian is the oldest period of the Paleozoic era, and is generally agreed to have covered the time span between 570 and 500million years before present.”
Her rote answer grated. “Jenna.” Caution sharpened his voice.
In the quiet, he could hear her breathe. Shallow, rapid. He watched her chest rise and fall. The generous curve...
No.
. He swallowed hard. Think science.
But he couldn’t resist tweaking his lesson plan—just for her. “Imagine the swell of warm tides,” he said, “tumbling into shoals.”
A playful smile twitching her lips, she turned her gaze on him. “The swell of warm tides?”
He nodded. “Interwoven in the sandstone are some distinctive units like this one.” His forefinger picked at a thin maroon layer. Warmth flowed from the cliff wall into his palm. “Beautiful. So smooth—alive.”
“Alive?” Jenna reached out to touch the peach-colored sandstone, her skin blending with the rock. “These units are older than the dinosaurs.”
Mal hid a grin. “You’re correct, of course. But before creatures populated the land, the lush, tropical seas frothed with life.” He pointed to a sequence in the stratigraphy. “Relentless currents of nutrient-rich water ebbed and flowed over soft, fertile beds.”
She leaned against the cliff. “The sea floor must have teemed with plants.” Fire lit her eyes and she continued, “To withstand the powerful force of the tides, they must have had to sink their roots deep, driving them hard until they hit impenetrable rock…”
His heart thudded. “Exactly, Jenna. Colonies of flora and fauna lived, reproduced and died, always straining toward the hot Cambrian sun. For the first time in Earth’s history, predators appeared. They knew what they wanted and they went after it.”

Summary
Twenty-one year old Anna Blake has lived her life by one simple rule; never get attached. Having learned early on in life that nothing is guaranteed, she knows there is only one person she can truly rely on; herself.

But when she accepts a job as a dancer at one of the most secretive and exclusive clubs in the country, operating under the name Logan, she meets the one man who makes her question everything she thought she knew.

Bentley Reed is exactly the type of man women crave. Rich, powerful, and as sexy as they come; the definition of a playboy. A former soccer star turned business mogul, Bentley is used to getting what he wants, when he wants it…. but he has never met a girl like Logan before.

Their undeniable attraction is clear from their first encounter and neither can deny the sexual chemistry that flows between them. When Logan agrees to one night with Bentley, she has no idea that one night will alter her very existence.

Determined to walk away from a man insistent on not letting her go, Logan struggles to resist the temptation of what her body desires above all else.

What happens when two people who operate by the same rules, find themselves breaking them all for the chance to experience just one more night in each others arms?

Excerpt
As the song winds down, I turn my attention to the few people in front of me, for the first time acknowledging that there is even an audience in the room. My eyes quickly scan the faces and immediately land on a very attractive man leaning against the far wall, arms crossed in front of his chest.
I dart my gaze away from him the moment I realize that his eyes are locked firmly on my face. Something about the intensity of his stare makes it impossible not to look back in his direction again. The moment our eyes meet, a chill runs through my entire body. He’s close enough that I can register the heat in his eyes and the beauty of his face, but far enough away that I doubt he can see the way my cheeks heat crimson under his glare.

He’s tall, maybe six two, with a body that looks like he lives in the gym and a face that I swear belongs on every modeling magazine in the world. The man is perfection. My stomach twists tighter when he runs his hand through his messy short brown hair and lets out a slow exhale, his lips forming around his breath.

Summary
Boring. Tiresome. Predictable. That’s how Trish’s husband of almost 30 years described her when he told her he was leaving. Trish sets out to drink her blues away when she literally stumbles onto a man who offers her the adventure of a lifetime. Trish has no idea what she’s walking into when she visits Bliss, the local BDSM club, but under Dave’s tutelage, she takes to the new lifestyle readily.

And when she’s paired for two weeks with Clint, the one Dom in the place who can’t seem to stand her, sparks fly. He keeps her so confused that Trish isn’t sure what’s going on. She’s sure of one thing, however: She’s falling for the handsome, tortured soul, and she’s hoping he’s falling for her.

But when a simple mistake puts her in harm’s way at his hands, Trish has to decide: Is it an adventure worth dying for? And when everything falls apart, can she manage to forgive him? More importantly, can he forgive himself and bury the ghosts that have been haunting him for too long?

Adventurous Me is a fun, sexy, sweet, explicit, romantic romp that’ll leave you breathless and hopeful. And it’s definitely not for the under-18 crowd.

Review
Are you looking for a deeper fantasy?
I would suggest you read this book. It gives you insight on BDSM, you will learn through Trish, and it will brighten your eyes and your mind.
Adventurous Me is the first book I have read by author Deanndra Hall. I read this whole book in one day, I could not put it down, and the story intrigued me to wanting to know what will happen next.
Trish meets Clint at the BDSM club, she never knew what to expect when she walked into the club. She just knew she wanted an adventure, and to not be a boring girl that her ex-husband said she was.
Clint has been broken on so many levels, but Trish still hung in, even after the awful treatment she went through. Together they learn more about themselves, then what they thought they needed.
Adventurous Me is about happiness, sex, wild-mind-blowing sex, and heartbreak. You should totally check this book, and add it to your TBR Now!

“You do realize that trying to prove something to someone is a lousy reason to do something, don’t you?” His gaze is serious. ~8% Kindle

“I think the adventure was fine. But it’s like they say: It’s not the fall that gets you – it’s the sudden stop at the bottom.” ~83% Kindle

Review
I really enjoyed getting to know more about Steffen, a broken man who is a Dom. He works through his emotions through BDSM, and had so many Subs he has lost count. He first met Trish at Bliss, and later found her best friend Shelia. Steffen realizes a lot while Sheila is in his life. He realizes things in his past that is now hurting his relationship in the present. He doesn’t know what to do, but to make it right. Steffen’s past walks into his life, only to realize it was more confusing, and frustrating than before. However, he knows what to do to make the one person happy, and to finally fall in love. When the chaos happens, Shelia realizes she just wants to experience BDSM, not only is she working through the pain, but she uses pain to overcome her feelings for Steffen. Would Steffen hear her screams when she is trouble? Or would her screams never be heard?

There’s no rope, no cuffs, no spreader bar or flogger or blindfolded, just me and her and this warmth and familiarity that I’ve never had with another woman, and it fills her bedroom like fog over the bay. ~46% Kindle

Summary
The equations are simple.

Piper Ashby + Brad Ashby = Twin Siblings
Brad Ashby + Tanner McCain = Best Friends
Piper Ashby + Tanner McCain = Off limits

Tanner and I abided by the rules. We stayed on our designated sides of the relationship circle.

Ignoring swarming butterflies.
Brushing off skipped heartbeats.
Settling on lingering stares.

Here’s the secret … a hand extended over that invisible line once, exponentially changing the equation. I was convinced we could make our relationship work until Tanner broke the trust he embedded in me from the age of seven.

One deceit of mega proportions and the relationship we built for that short month vanished. I swore never to speak to him again and it’s worked. Until now—two years later, when my brother’s wedding places me face-to-face with the best man—Tanner McCain.

Leaving one equation to be solved. Can love surface twice?

Excerpt
“So when’s the owner usually get in?” He directed his attention to me as Zoey admired the numerous awards that lined all the shelves to the right of my desk.

“You’re looking at her,” I said shyly. I’m sure the last thing he was expecting to hear was that the girl who flipped out on him was the same girl who would be teaching his sister dance.

“Oh,” he replied, arching an eyebrow at me.

“Hey, Zoey, how about you go do some stretches before the others get here. Okay?” Talon directed his little sister.

“Okay,” she replied and skipped out of the room.

“You really should put some ice on that,” I suggested as I pointed to his jaw.

“Has anyone ever told you that you have a mean right hook?” He laughed as his humor danced within his dark eyes.

“I really am sorry.” A few giggles escaped me before we both fell into an uncomfortable silence.

“So…” He rubbed his hand down the back of his neck again. It wasn’t hard to notice that he would do that when his nerves were getting the best of him. It’s a tell-tale sign.

“So…” I mocked him.

“Do you always do that when someone scares you?”

My heart rate spiked through the roof at his question. I hadn’t talked to anyone about my crazy shit, except the counselor I attempted to see, and Adalynn. I took a few deep breaths to try and slow my heart rate so I didn’t flip the hell out in front of Talon again. I’m sure if I did he would take Zoey and run as far away from my place as possible.

“Umm…Not always,” I lied…flat out lied to his face, but in the smallest way possible.

“You might be able to convince someone else with that answer, but not me.” He tapped his finger on the desk, pulled a piece of paper from his pocket, and slid it over to me before walking out of my office and taking a seat in the area designated for family members.

I sat there in complete silence, staring at the check that paid for Zoey’s full semester at Graceful Moves, but it wasn’t the amount of the check that had me baffled, it was the way Talon could see right through the wall of bullshit that I had built around myself so people wouldn’t see the real me. I was the last person anyone would want their child around after all the shit I’d been through. Life had dealt me an outstanding hand, just to turn around and set it ablaze. Yet there I was, trying to gather up all of the ashes in hopes of building something just as good as what I’d had before.

Then one day, Darcy’s car is repossessed from the parking lot of her elite private school. As her father’s business hit the skids, Dad didn’t just skip town, he bailed on his family.

Fortunately, Darcy’s uncle owns a thrift shop where she can hide out from the world. There’s also Lucas, the wickedly hot fix-it guy she can’t stop crushing on, even if she’s not sure they’ll ever get out of the friend zone.

But it’s here among the colorful characters of her uncle’s world that Darcy begins to see something more in herself…if she has the courage to follow it.

“Truth, Darcy,” Lucas said. “How’s everything going? For real.”
I stumbled and he put out a hand to steady me, which didn’t help since the sudden warmth of his touch made me even more klutzy.
“I’m okay,” I said, once I’d figured how to walk again.
“You’re lying,” he said conversationally, like he’d asked me about the weather. He tossed his long dark hair out of his eyes and I swallowed, trying to maintain my composure. “You’re worried about something. More than usual, I mean.”
My lips parted in surprise. “How can you tell?”
He shrugged. “I just can.” I gazed down at Toby, whose tail wagged at warp speed. “It might help to talk about it,” Lucas said, his voice soft.
I glanced at him, startled at the intensity I saw in his eyes. I turned away, pretending to be interested in the jumble of model airplane kits in the window of the run-down hobby store.
His hand brushed mine, lacing our fingers briefly, but before I could catch my breath, he released my hand and took hold of Toby’s leash. He cleared his throat. “That’s what friends are for, right?”
Friends. Right. Of course. I let go of the leash, letting Lucas take over. “Yeah,” I said, my voice a little wobbly. We walked in silence and I wondered if I’d hallucinated the whole almost-held-my-hand thing.
“If you don’t tell me what’s up, I’ll just ask Charlie.”
I took a deep breath. Inhale calm. Exhale obsessive need to analyze potential hand-holding event.

About the Author
LisaRobertsLisa Brown Roberts still hasn’t recovered from the teenage trauma of nearly tweezing off both eyebrows and having to pencil them in for an entire school year. This and other angst-filled memories inspire her to write YA books about navigating life’s painful and funny dramas, and falling in love along the way.

Her almost forever home is Colorado, though she occasionally pines for the days when she lived within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean. Her house is full of books, boys, several four-legged prima donnas, and lots of laughter.
