Summary
Having it all isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

When Sarah Sullivan’s perfect life blows up in front of her, she finds herself crawling back to the one place she never saw herself returning: Home.

At thirty-one, Sarah had it all. Perfect job, perfect boyfriend, perfect life. When all that is taken away from her, she is left heartbroken and angry and desperate enough to let her life swallow her whole…for a while.

Fending off love and the pursuit of happiness completely, Sarah vows to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. She creates a list of goals for herself—starting with a much needed shower—and constructs a plan to dig herself out of her rut. What she doesn’t plan for is meeting the arrogant new employee her parents have hired to work on an addition to their home. Enter Jack Calloway, the handsome, charming, lickable foreman with an insatiable effect on Sarah’s girly parts.

Jack accepts the job, but gets more than he bargained for. Unable to ignore his racing hormones—and calm his temper—over the obnoxious woman who clouds his judgment, Jack pulls her in and steals her heart until she finally surrenders. But is he up for the challenge of picking up the pieces of Sarah’s broken heart? Can he carry her out of her rut?

Review
Loved, Loved, Loved!
Let me just say… I finished this book, and was working on another book and my mind is still with Jack! -sigh- So, yes… I still have a hangover, someone help me! Can you?
Hollyfield took us on a trip through heartbreak, depression, recovery, falling in love, romance, drama, humor… all in a short time in this book. I loved how it started out slow, and got to build with the story.
Jack, come on! He is an amazing character. Who doesn’t love a construction worker? He owns a company, he is successful, and a charmer.
Sarah realizes there is more to life than people crushing her heart. She is easy to connect with and also the narrator throughout, it is her story to tell.
I will definitely am stalking Ms. Hollyfield from now on! Go check this book out. You know you want to.

brings about changes she dreamed of,things she never thought possible.
Like meeting Kasen Wells, a reluctant movie star,
struggling with the fame he never wanted.

Craving an easy going, normal life, will he walk away from it all?
Should Farrow embrace her fifteen minutes,
or cling to the mediocrity of her everyday existence?
Or will fate intervene, making their choices for them?

Review
I absoutely fell in love with Kasen, and Farrow. Who knew a “normal” book blogging girl could be swept off her feet by a celebrity?!
Kasen, Kasen, Kasen! Just oh my WOWs! We will get more to that in just a sex.. second.
Farrow, just an ordinary girl in the book blogging world, who won a chance to be the exclusive reporter and or blogger of a book made into a movie. How awesome would that be!? (insert day-dreaming here) She has access for the behind-the-scene footage, well the ones she could go to, and she got to meet a lot of celebrities. She got to the see the world of Hollywood, and their endless days or nights.
I loved Farrow’s ambitions, her character, and the way she is independent. I loved the corkiness, the flirting, and the friendship that formed between Kasen and Farrow. A lot of moments I was beyond smiling.
Kasen, such a sweet soul. I loved it when they went to see his mom, you could feel the love through the pages. At times during the book I wanted to hurt him, like maybe punch him in the arm, but hey.. I can just say -ugh, men!- but overall he is a romantic, and who doesn’t love that?
If you are looking for a sweet, easy, humor, and some romance then I would say try this book out! I have found another author that I love ❤ Maybe you will love the book just as much as I did…

Summary
Boring. Tiresome. Predictable. That’s how Trish’s husband of almost 30 years described her when he told her he was leaving. Trish sets out to drink her blues away when she literally stumbles onto a man who offers her the adventure of a lifetime. Trish has no idea what she’s walking into when she visits Bliss, the local BDSM club, but under Dave’s tutelage, she takes to the new lifestyle readily.

And when she’s paired for two weeks with Clint, the one Dom in the place who can’t seem to stand her, sparks fly. He keeps her so confused that Trish isn’t sure what’s going on. She’s sure of one thing, however: She’s falling for the handsome, tortured soul, and she’s hoping he’s falling for her.

But when a simple mistake puts her in harm’s way at his hands, Trish has to decide: Is it an adventure worth dying for? And when everything falls apart, can she manage to forgive him? More importantly, can he forgive himself and bury the ghosts that have been haunting him for too long?

Adventurous Me is a fun, sexy, sweet, explicit, romantic romp that’ll leave you breathless and hopeful. And it’s definitely not for the under-18 crowd.

Review
Are you looking for a deeper fantasy?
I would suggest you read this book. It gives you insight on BDSM, you will learn through Trish, and it will brighten your eyes and your mind.
Adventurous Me is the first book I have read by author Deanndra Hall. I read this whole book in one day, I could not put it down, and the story intrigued me to wanting to know what will happen next.
Trish meets Clint at the BDSM club, she never knew what to expect when she walked into the club. She just knew she wanted an adventure, and to not be a boring girl that her ex-husband said she was.
Clint has been broken on so many levels, but Trish still hung in, even after the awful treatment she went through. Together they learn more about themselves, then what they thought they needed.
Adventurous Me is about happiness, sex, wild-mind-blowing sex, and heartbreak. You should totally check this book, and add it to your TBR Now!

They work hard to forge a relationship, only to have it destroyed by someone from Steffen’s past – the one person he’d forgotten about. As Sheila, hurt and angry, walks out of his life, Steffen eventually gives up on love until that fateful night when curiosity takes him somewhere he never thought he’d be to see something he never dreamed he’d see.

Review
I really enjoyed getting to know more about Steffen, a broken man who is a Dom. He works through his emotions through BDSM, and had so many Subs he has lost count. He first met Trish at Bliss, and later found her best friend Shelia. Steffen realizes a lot while Sheila is in his life. He realizes things in his past that is now hurting his relationship in the present. He doesn’t know what to do, but to make it right. Steffen’s past walks into his life, only to realize it was more confusing, and frustrating than before. However, he knows what to do to make the one person happy, and to finally fall in love. When the chaos happens, Shelia realizes she just wants to experience BDSM, not only is she working through the pain, but she uses pain to overcome her feelings for Steffen. Would Steffen hear her screams when she is trouble? Or would her screams never be heard?

There’s no rope, no cuffs, no spreader bar or flogger or blindfolded, just me and her and this warmth and familiarity that I’ve never had with another woman, and it fills her bedroom like fog over the bay. ~46% Kindle

About the Author
DeanndraHallDeanndra Hall: For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a writer . . .
and it has served me well. I wrote for local publications, wrote marketing and advertising materials, wrote for academic publications, and eventually grew jaded with the writing profession as I often watched others take credit for my hard work. I retreated into the world of 3-D art in the fiber and textile mediums and hid out in a world of colors and textures. But, truth is, there was always a story or two in my head. It wasn’t until Nikki and I met in my imagination that I decided it was time to let those stories out, and I’m glad I did. My readers now get to enjoy the fruits of my imagination and, believe me, it runs wild!
On the personal side, I’ve been happily married to my lover and best friend for over thirty years, and I have two wonderful adult kids who’ve blessed me with two excellent choices of life partners. When I’m not writing, I’m playing with my three crazy little dogs, hiking in a local recreation area, kayaking, working out at the gym, tending my herbs, cooking, or doing some kind of research.

But I’d really rather be writing!

Book Review: Wild @CherylStrayed

WildTitle: Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
Publisher: Knopf
Author: Cheryl Strayed
Genre: Non-Fiction, Memoir

★ ☆★ ☆★ – 4 Stars

Summary
At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother’s death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, driven only by blind will, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State — and she would do it alone.
Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her.
“One of the Best Books of the Year”: NPR, The Boston GlobeEntertainment Weekly, Vogue, St. Louis Dispatch .

Review
Captivating.
It is about finding yourself, when you have lost so much. Strayed definitely let go, and went head on with nature. I found myself pushing for her to continue on, even through blisters, and missing toenails. I have loved every moment in this book, even with all the people she met along the way. I really enjoyed the back story as to her life before the trail, it painted a picture of why she decided to get real with herself.
One moment of the book that I loved was the horse named Lady. You grieved with her, but you continued to read through her words of everything she had to overcome.
Another part, closer to the beginning were she was screaming Moose! rofl! Oh, I giggled. Strayed has a way with words, and I enjoyed the humor here in there throughout the story.
I personally don’t know if I would ever be able to do such a journey but boy does this book give you hope.
Thank you for sharing your story, and I will definitely have to find the movie!

Review
Floored is an understatement. I am in awe as I sit here to type my review. This book had me wanting to know more, it kept my eyes moving with the action in the words. I wanted to did sit, in one sitting, just to finish the book, and to say I finished it in a day is unbelievable, but I did it.
I couldn’t believe at all the things each character went throughout the book, but for this to be based on a true story… wow!
I loved the fact that we got to understand more about life overseas, and what they have to endure. I couldn’t imagine the lifestyle there, it really brings everything into prescriptive on how much we have it made in America. It also brings to light of the not so good, and how much the internet can lie to us.
The Promise is just brilliantly done, and I can not put into words how much it meant for me to read such an incredible story. My niece even looked at me to say, “Wow, you must really like that book. You are so into it”
I would definitely recommend this book if you like a mystery, true story based events, and are looking for some action. Will definitely be looking for more of Beth’s work.

Review: The Dawn of Christmas @cindywoodsmall

TheDawnofChristmasTitle: The Dawn of Christmas: A Romance from the heart of Amish Country
Publisher: WaterBrook Press
Author: Cindy Woodsmall
Genre: Holiday, Christian Fiction
Series: Apple Ridge, Book 3

★ ☆★ ☆ – 4 Stars

Summary
This Christmas, experience learning to trust alongside the Plain folk of Apple Ridge, Pennsylvania in this heart-warming tale of second chances.

Sadie enjoys her freedom away from home and her mission trips to Peru, but after four years, her Old Order Amish family insists it’s time to come home and settle down. To keep their families from meddling in their lives, Sadie and Levi devise a plan—but soon discover that the walls around their hearts are breaking down. Can they let go of their prejudices, learn to trust each other, and embrace a future together?

Review
Sadie sees with her eyes that her fiancé may not be as perfect as she thought, and isn’t the man she wants to marry. People close to her think she has lied, or have been “seeing” things that wasn’t there between her future husband, and the other girl. Sadie was crushed, and thought marriage would never be something to think about again.
Sadie meets Levi when she found his horse, and later found him. Levi was hurt badly, and Sadie saved his life. Sadie and Levi become friends, they decided they would “date” to keep their families quiet about the dating/ courtship life.
Sadie wants to go into Mission work, but her family wants her to marry into the Amish faith, get married and raise a family of her own.
I recommend you grab this easy, fun read. Find out for yourself what happens, and how the story plays out. You won’t be disappointed, and neither was I.

About the Author
CindyWCindy Woodsmall is a New York Times best-selling author who has written six novels, three novellas, and Plain Wisdom, a work of nonfiction coauthored with her dearest Old Order Amish friend, Miriam Flaud. She’s been featured on ABC Nightline and the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and has worked with National Geographic on a documentary concerning Amish life.

She’s won Fiction Book of the Year, Reviewer’s Choice Awards, Inspirational Reader’s Choice Contest, as well as one of Crossings’ Best Books of the Year. She’s been a finalist for the prestigious Christy, Rita, and Carol Awards, Christian Book of the Year, and Christian Retailers Choice Awards.

Her real-life connections with Amish Mennonite and Old Order Amish families enrich her novels with authenticity. Though she didn’t realize it at the time, seeds were sown years ago that began preparing Cindy to write these books. At the age of ten, while living in the dairy country of Maryland, she became best friends with Luann, a Plain Mennonite girl. Luann, like all the females in her family, wore the prayer Kapp and cape dresses. Her parents didn’t allow television or radios, and many other modern conveniences were frowned upon. During the numerous times Luann came to Cindy’s house to spend the night, her rules came with her and the two were careful to obey them—afraid that if they didn’t, the adults would end their friendship. Although the rules were much easier to keep when they spent the night at Luann’s because her family didn’t own any of the forbidden items, both sets of parents were uncomfortable with the relationship and a small infraction of any kind would have been enough reason for the parents to end the relationship. While navigating around the adults’ disapproval and the obstacles in each other’s lifestyle, the two girls bonded in true friendship that lasted into their teen years, until Cindy’s family moved to another region of the US.

As an adult, Cindy became friends with a wonderful Old Order Amish family who opened their home to her. Although the two women, Miriam and Cindy, live seven hundred miles apart geographically, and a century apart by customs, when they come together they never lack for commonality, laughter, and dreams of what only God can accomplish through His children. Over the years Cindy has continued to make wonderful friendships with those inside the Amish and Mennonite communities—from the most conservative ones to the most liberal.

Cindy lives in Georgia with her husband, three sons, two daughters-in-law, a new granddaughter, and a dog named Jersey who wants to dominate the world, starting with the Woodsmall household.

Review
A Tricky Game is an exciting read, especially for those who love psychological thriller, mystery, and a quick, easy read of around 100 pages.
This book was way out of comfort zone, see I am usually curled up with a romance, but man! I was surprised that I really enjoyed A Tricky Game. The book captured me within the first few pages. It was hard to follow with everything going on, but I still did enjoy it.
Angela Moreaux, a young, attractive lady who finds herself a mask man. This book will keep you turning pages with a few sexy scenes.

Summary

She’s made herself a vow – no relationships. She’s trying to heal, not complicate her life further.

Drawn to Lyric despite her inability to trust, he’ll do anything to own her heart.

Will secrets and misunderstandings send Lyric running again? Or will David finally save her from herself?

Review
Really loved Lyric’s story. Save Me From Myself was full of heartbreak, self-worth, determination, finding yourself and how to let go without being completely broken.
Lyric is such a strong, but yet insecure woman. She has been through so much in just a short amount of time, but she left her past behind to rebuild who she is.
David is a complete true man. He knows just what needs to be done to get the job done. He doesn’t let love blind him, and is completely the perfect guy. I loved his demeanor. He didn’t go looking for love, but love walked into his life; as goes for Lyric.
If you love easy, fun, rebuilding romance books, you definitely need to find this. I had no clue the ending would come out the way it did, it was really worth it.

Summary
There’s a fine line between love and hate, so fine that you don’t know you’ve lost balance until it’s too late.
I’m not sure exactly when I lost my balance, all I know is that he was to blame.
Dane Winters.
The boy who’d spent most of his life hating me for reasons I never understood.

** ** ** ** ** **

It was no secret that I hated her, but only I knew why.
She was off-limits.
And then our separate worlds collided with one tragedy.
It wasn’t her fault, I knew that, but I wanted her to hurt the way I did, and I needed someone to blame. She was an easy target.
Kennedy Monroe.
The girl I’d picked on all our lives.
And the woman I barely tolerated.
Until the line between love and hate was no longer visible…

Review
I cried, I hated, I smiled, I cried… and I cheered! Oh My Gosh, so many emotions!
There were times I wanted to punch Dane right in the face, and there were times I was crying because I never expected anything. Sure, we all read romances, so we get the general jest of what happens in a book, but come on! This book is a must read! You will totally understand why my emotions were all over the place, and it will have you begging to read more.
Kennedy is always trying to be nice, and just go on about her life; however, Dane always has to put his nose where it doesn’t belong. I was to the point of wanting her to just cuss him like a dog, and leave him as trash. But once the story kept building you can see why everything happens the way it does, dang stupid family “drama” and their “reasons for hate”.
I loved Kennedy’s friend Jade, and how she was always there when she needed to be, and even Kennedy was there for Jade. True friendship is something hard to come by, but Tamsyn Bester played this book out perfectly, and I couldn’t see it any other way. She warmed my heart, and my soul… I am a FAN!

“You’re not alone, and you never have been. I might not be here anymore, but you have people who care about you. Don’t allow your past to dictate your future. And always remember that I love you.”
